Drop off your donations at the back of our building on any day that the thrift shop is open from 8:00 am until the shop closes. We gratefully accept donations of usable clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, all types of home goods, toys, books, movies, notions, furniture, decorator items, artwork, appliances, electronics, sporting goods, holiday items, etc. (items that we cannot accept are noted below.
We offer free pick up for large items and large donations, and we specialize in home and villa clean outs for donors who are moving or downsizing. We normally pick up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but for the convenience of donors other pick-up times may possibly be arranged with sufficient notice. Please contact Michele Schwind at 843-342-2469 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements for a free donation pick-up.
Tax receipts are provided for all donations. Donors of items that exceed $250 in value will be provided with the required documentation as required by tax codes.
We cannot accept food, medical devices, personal hygiene items, gasoline, chemicals, or any other hazardous materials. Due to disposal and liability issues we are currently NOT accepting computers, peripheral equipment, non-flat panel TVs, child’s car seats and drop-side cribs
In addition, we ask that donors do not leave soiled, torn or broken or otherwise unusable items as we have no way to repair them. Unusable items left at our dock require volunteers to spend time sorting them from what is salable, and increase our trash removal costs, reducing the amount of money we have to contribute to the underserved of Beaufort County.
The Sheriff's Department advises that anyone found dumping refuse at The Bargain Box is subject to a fine.
